Mona Stevens

Mona has been in music all her life.  She began performing at the age of 5 and has never looked back.  She was an ASCAP songwriter for over 8 years and has studied classical, folk and blues guitar. Mona spent four years in Nashville honing her skills as a singer/songwriter.  While there, she was the lead singer for the “Mona Rae Stevens Band” headlining at the Bluebird Cafe, Douglas Corner, and Diamond in the Ruff, and guest appearances on the “Merchants’ Radio Show” and television’s “American Magazine” and “Be A Star.” Her powerful leads, gritty growls and harmonica jams give the band its edgy blues-rock sound. Influences include Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, Francine Reed, and Katie Webster.  Mona is also in the very popular vocal group Wayward Molly that performs a “celtic-folkgrass” style of music.   Mona is known in the softball world. She is a former Head Coach of the University of Utah, UMass Amherst, and one of the USA National Team coaches.  She has been a residential Realtor in the Salt Lake City area for the last 8 years.  “What a great life I have… great job and a fantastic band full of amazing people! I really should be wearing the “Life is Good” T-shirt every day!”
